  • Seolleongtang
    Seolleongtang
    Seollengtang has been familiar to, and enjoyed by Daejeon citizens since small restaurant near Daejeon Station Became famous for its recipe more than 40 years ago. Seollengtang is loced for the characteristic taste of its broth that comes from long boiled beef bones and meat. It goes superbly with the famous and well-matured gimchi and kkakdugi.

  • Dolsotbap
    Dolsotbap
    Dolsotbap contains nonglutinous rice. minor cereals (foxtail, millet, beans, sorgum), ginkgo nuts, and carrots. It is generally served with side dishes such as fresh vegetables and 20 types of cooked wild greens. It has gained its fame by the wonderful taste of the bap (cooked rice), which is far superior to the bap made in a traditional cauldron, and as such, has become a representative food of Daejeon.

    Daejeon’s Samgyetang has a distinctive taste when compared with the soups of other regions. This is due to the development and refinement over the years of the recipe, which uses Geumsansingeng. It is regarded as a designated traditional health food of Daejeon and boasts a light and refreshing flavor. its easy digestion makes it a popular dish with people of all ages.

  • Sutgol Naengmyeon
    Sutgol Naengmyeon
    In Daejeon, There is a restaurant that has made Sutgol naengmyun for 50 years, maintaining the taste of Pyeongyang neangmyun over four generation Easy-to-eat noodles(90% buckwheat ns 10% wheat flour) and yuksu or meat gravy (30% chicken yuksu, 70% gravy fom the watery radish gimchi) are the ingredients which differentaiate from the naengmyun of other regions.

  • Daecheongho Minmulgogi Maeuntang
    Daecheongho Minmulgogi Maeuntang
    Geumgang ssogari(mandarin fish) is famous as a special Food. In fact, it is known to have been presented to kings during the Joseon Dynasty. Dishes made from midstream fresh water fish have been developed in the Sintanjin area of Geumgang since early times. Following the completion of the Daecheong Dam in 1981, the first restaurants specializing in Maeuntang opened. As a result, the taste became recognized and acclaimed among visitors. Boiling various seasonings and freshwater fish for about twenty minutes makes the taste of Maeuntang light and refreshing.

    Gujeukmuk
    Gujeukmuk has become one of Daejeon’s distinctive foods since the early 1980s, when farmers developed muk as a secondary crop to improve their livelihoods. Gujeukmuk’s exquisite taste is derived from chopped muk (acorn jelly) in broth, in which anchovies and tangle weeds have been infused with chopped gimchi and laver.
